hollow block

Hollow block are produced in various shapes and sizes. The mixture consisting of cement, sand, gravel and water must reach a paste-like consistency in order to be poured into the mold. Hollow blocks can only be poured into moulds in this form.

When it dries, it becomes as hard as concrete. In general, there are two types of hollow blocks, hollow blocks and solid blocks.

Hollow Block

Hollow blocks contain one or more cavities. These cavities reduce the total cross-sectional area of the block by 25%. A hollow hollow block is usually produced with more than 50 percent full.

Standard blocks come in two sizes, one with half the space of the other. The full-size blocks are rectangular prism structured and have two cavities. Half hollow blocks, which are half the size of full blocks, are in the form of cubes and have a single cavity.

solid Block

Even though it is called as solid block, these blocks have cavities. Since the surface area is more than the hollow blocks, they therefore have less cavities than only those blocks. Less than 25 percent of the cross-sectional area of this block, also known as solid block, is cavities.

Fully Filled solid Block

Some of these blocks consist of stackable stones. Some have a form suitable for flooring called Pavingstone. Stackable stones have two surfaces that are left uneven and hard to preserve the natural appearance. The other four surfaces are exactly parallel to each other. They are used to practically construct solid walls that look like reinforced concrete. Natural stones are generally irregular in shape and difficult to match each other in stacking or flooring. Pavingstones have smooth forms and are laid like tiles to obtain a stylish look, especially in the urban landscape.

How to Lay Hollow Blocks ?

Hollow blocks are often used to build structures such as large wall fences. The reduced volume of concrete used to make each block provides significant savings in material cost for the entire wall. Being lighter makes them very practical to carry.

If the hollow core stones are to be used for design, they have a structure and sufficient space to be accompanied by reinforcing materials such as steel bars. Sometimes it is also possible to pass water or electrical pipes through their cavities.

Fully filled hollow blocks are used for asphalting and other projects where structural defects on the roads may be dangerous or inappropriate. In addition, in the construction of these solid blocks, relatively more mortar is needed than other hollow hollow blocks.
